où l’on a accompagné un ami, où les quais vides

sont la piste crissante vers les étoiles cachées.

The Cold Again (English)

Poplars shaken in the cold wind,

in a low, curtailed light,

the earth withdrawn into itself,

a few dull leaves on the birch;

a remote train passes,

conveying the coldness of iron,

and the station with its icy winds

where you dropped off a friend, and where the empty

platform is a whistling track to the hidden stars.
