Anne Portugal (born March 29, 1949) is a French poet who lives and works in Paris. She was born in Angers (Maine-et-Loire) and attended Paris 8 University in the suburbs of Paris. Her work is at once feminist, highly experimental, and enormously influential on other poets. She has contributed to the revivews Poesie, If, Action poétique, and Banana split, among others. She has also translated the work of Emily Dickinson and contemporary poets Stacy Doris and Barbara Guest.
