Ingram, Paul: Clerihew (Truman) (Clerihew - Truman in Hungarian)

Portre of Ingram, Paul
Portre of P. T.

Back to the translator

Clerihew - Truman (English)

Harry Truman
Played beautiful Schumann,
But couldn’t play stride*
As hard as he tried.

*In the left hand, the pianist usually plays a single bass note, or a bass octave or tenth, followed by a chord, while the right hand plays syncopated melody lines with harmonic and riff embellishments and fill patterns.

Clerihew (Truman) (Hungarian)

Harry Truman
Szépséges játéka Schumann,
Balkézzel lanyha a kíséret,*
Inkább csak gyengécske kísérlet.

*Sokan, akik a stride zongorázást, mint technikát elemzik általában a balkéz játékot emelik ki, ami lényegesen megkülönbözteti más stílusoktól. A stride zongorista balkezével egy komplett kísérőzenekart helyettesít.
