Bly, Robert: Vasárnap Glastonburyben (Sunday in Glastonbury in Hungarian)

Portre of Bly, Robert
Portre of Gergely Ágnes

Back to the translator

Sunday in Glastonbury (English)

It is out in the flimsy suburbs,
Where the light seems to shine through the walls.

My black shoes stand on the floor
Like two open graves.

The curtains do not know what to hope for,
But they are obedient.

How strange to think of India!
Wealth is nothing but lack of people.

Vasárnap Glastonburyben (Hungarian)

Kinn, a szakadékony külvárosokban
mintha átsütne a fény a falakon.

Fekete félcipőm a padlón,
mint két nyitott sír.

A függöny nem tudja, mit reméljen,
de azért engedelmes.

Milyen furcsa, hogy Indiára gondolok!
A vagyon nem más, mint emberhiány.
