Életrajz

Andrey Kneller was born in Moscow, Russia in 1983. When he was 10, his family immigrated to New York City, where he grew up. Being fluent in both languages, Andrey soon started translating Russian poetry into English. He has translated numerous works of Vladimir Mayakovsky, Boris Pasternak, Marina Tsvetaeva, Aleksander Pushkin, Vladimir Vysotsky, Andrei Voznesensky, Anna Akhmatova among other Russian poets. His first book of translations, entitled, "The Golden-Mouthed: Selected Poetry of Boris Pasternak and Vladimir Mayakovsky" was published in April, 2004. His own poetry has appeared in a number of journals and magazines including TheHyperTexts, The Raintown Review, and Unlikely Stories. Last year, Andrey has completed his undergraduate study at Brandeis University with a major in Mathematics, and a minor in Creative Writing. In the near future, he hopes to publish two new books, - a collection of translations of Marina Tsvetaeva and a collection of his own poetry.
